Kartique began as a private spreadsheet. It was born from too many scattered searches, saved posts, and half-hidden recommendations and the wish for one beautiful, practical place to find the best second-hand, vintage interior spots, city by city.
This is a reuse-first sourcing tool built from taste, research, and real-world notes made to help designers find better pieces without wasting time or buying new by default.
What we're building is a place for people who buy slowly and choose carefully. Who know the difference between a piece that's been restored and a piece that's been on too may Instagram feeds lately. Who will drive an hour outside the city because someone mentioned a barn sale in passing. The sourcing community has always worked this way through word of mouth, through trust, through knowing whose eye you can rely on. We're just making that easier to find.
The secondhand choice is also the better choice, and we don't think that needs much defending. A sideboard that's already in the world doesn't need to be manufactured. A lamp someone's grandmother read by doesn't need to be shipped from a factory. We believe in buying things that already exist and buying them well.

Every spot is scouted online or curated and written up by an editor on the ground usually a working interior designer.
Verified seasonally
Hours change. Owners retire and close shops. We re-check listings on a rolling schedule and stamp each record with the date.
Edited, not crowdsourced
We don't list every shop. We list the ones we'd actually send a client to. If it isn't here, it's because it didn't make the edit.
