Cookie Policy

Last updated · 26 August 2026

Kartique uses only cookies and browser storage that the site needs in order to work. We do not set advertising cookies, we do not profile you, and we run no third-party analytics or tracking scripts. Because everything listed here is strictly necessary, it is exempt from consent under Directive 2002/58/EC (the ePrivacy Directive) as implemented in Sweden by the Electronic Communications Act (2022:482), so you will not see a consent banner.

1. What we store

Sign-in session

Keeps you signed in after you use a magic link, a one-time code or Google, so saved spots and trips stay attached to your account.

Strictly necessary · cookie and browser local storage

Kept · Until you sign out or the session expires

Sign-in request state

Holds the short-lived values needed to complete a sign-in safely, including the Google sign-in exchange.

Strictly necessary · browser storage

Kept · Minutes, cleared once sign-in finishes

Interface preferences

Remembers small choices such as your last directory view, filter state and whether the hero animation is playing.

Strictly necessary for the feature · browser storage

Kept · Until you clear your browser storage

Browsing the directory needs no account, and if you never sign in, only interface preferences are stored on your device.

2. What we do not use

No advertising or retargeting cookies, no social media pixels, no cross-site tracking and no analytics profiling. If we ever add analytics or any non-essential technology, we will ask for your consent first and update this page before it is switched on.

3. Third parties involved

Signing in and storing your saves and trips runs through our hosting, database and authentication provider, which sets the session cookie on our behalf as a processor under Article 28 GDPR. Choosing Google sign-in means Google may set its own cookies on its own pages during that sign-in; that is governed by Google's privacy notice. Maps on spot and trip pages load map tiles from a tile provider, which receives your IP address as part of the ordinary request for those images.

4. How to clear or block them

You can clear cookies and site data for kartique.co at any time in your browser settings, which signs you out and resets interface preferences. You can also block cookies entirely, but then sign-in, saved spots and trips will not work. Signing out from your account menu removes the session immediately.
