Terms of Service
Last updated · 22 August 2026
These terms govern your use of Kartique, an edited directory of second-hand, vintage and antique sourcing spots. The service is operated from Sweden by Kartique, contact lana@kartique.co. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
1. Information we must give you
As required by Directive 2000/31/EC (the E-Commerce Directive) and the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU, our identity, address of contact and the essential characteristics of the service are set out on this page and on our About page before you sign up.
2. The service
Kartique lets you browse an edited directory, save spots, build sourcing trips, receive an optional newsletter and submit spots for editorial review. Accounts are free at present. We are an independent editorial directory: we are not a party to any purchase, delivery, restoration or shipping agreement you make with a shop, dealer or auction house listed here.
3. Your account
You must be at least 16 to create an account. Keep your sign-in details confidential and tell us promptly if you suspect misuse. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. You may delete your account at any time in Settings.
4. Right of withdrawal
If we later offer a paid membership, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the day of purchase under Articles 9 to 16 of Directive 2011/83/EU, exercisable by emailing us. Where you ask us to start supplying digital content immediately and acknowledge that you lose the withdrawal right, Article 16(m) applies. Prices shown to EU consumers include VAT.
5. Acceptable use
Do not scrape, bulk-copy or resell the directory, submit false or misleading listings, upload unlawful content, attempt to break our security or access other users' data, or use the service to send unsolicited commercial messages. We may suspend accounts that breach these rules.
6. Content and licensing
Editorial text, photography selection, structure and the Kartique name are protected by copyright and trade mark law, including Directive (EU) 2019/790 and Directive 96/9/EC on the legal protection of databases. You may view, quote briefly with attribution and link to our pages; you may not republish substantial parts of the database.
When you submit a spot, photo, feedback or profile text, you keep your rights and grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to edit, publish and display it on Kartique and in our newsletter. Only submit material you are entitled to share. Photos credited to shops are used with attribution; if you hold rights to an image and want it removed, email us and we will act promptly.
7. Accuracy of listings
Opening hours, prices, transport terms and stock change constantly. We check listings by hand but provide them for information only, without warranty of accuracy or continued availability. Verify details with the shop before travelling.
8. Third-party content and AI suggestions
Some features, such as designer hotel suggestions for a trip city, are generated with automated AI assistance and may be incomplete or out of date. Treat them as inspiration and confirm details with the provider. Links to external sites are outside our control.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory EU or Swedish law, including liability for death or personal injury, intent or gross negligence, or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, wasted journeys or losses arising from your dealings with a listed shop. The service is provided as available and may be interrupted for maintenance.
10. Personal data
We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy, in line with the GDPR.
11. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; for material changes we will give reasonable notice by email or in the app before they take effect, and continued use afterwards counts as acceptance. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may terminate an account for serious or repeated breach of section 5.
12. Governing law and disputes
Swedish law applies. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence and may bring proceedings there, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 1215/2012 and Regulation (EC) 593/2008. Swedish consumers may also refer a dispute to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN); EU consumers may use the European Commission's online dispute resolution options. We aim to resolve complaints directly first, so please email us.
